“I am so excited to have Katie at the helm of the SUU Honors Program,” said Dr. Bill Heyborne, associate provost. “Her passion for the interdisciplinary nature of the program and her dedication to students make her the perfect person to take the reins at this time. I look forward to watching the program flourish under Professor Englert’s watchful care.”
Professor Englert graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts in Photojournalism and Anthropology. She then earned a Master of Arts in Anthropology from The Australian National University. Her current research focuses on collaborative instruction and information literacy. A world traveler, Professor Englert uses her experience living in Australia, Japan, and across the U.S. to help her guide students to encounter unique perspectives. She has gained extensive experience in higher education, instructing and mentoring students for over twenty-five years. The Honors Program looks forward to continuing under the leadership of Professor Englert.
SUU’s Honors Program is an academic organization which provides students the opportunity and resources to take charge of their education. Filled with innovative, creative, and motivated learners, honors students design and conduct original scholarly projects throughout their undergraduate experience.
