Visit Official WebsiteDongduk Women's University (동덕여자대학교, DWU) is a prominent private women's research university situated in Seoul, South Korea. Rooted in the founding of the Dongduk Girls' School in 1908 by civic leader and independence advocate Dr. Cho Dong-shik during the late Korean Empire period, the higher educational institution was formally established as Dongduk Women's College in 1950. Relocating to its present hillside Wolgok campus in 1967 and gaining full university status in 1987, Dongduk is celebrated for its multi-site specialized campus model, its prestigious College of Pharmacy, and its powerhouse programs in fashion design, model curation, broadcasting entertainment, and the performing arts, which have educated a generation of South Korea's screen actors and cultural icons. Dongduk pioneered a decentralized campus model linking its Wolgok academic headquarters in Seongbuk-gu with the Cheongdam Design Research Center in Gangnam's luxury fashion district, the Performing Arts Center in Daehangno's theater district, and the Dongduk Art Gallery in Insadong.
