Visit Official WebsiteFounded in 1967, Design School Kolding (Designskolen Kolding - DSKD) is one of Scandinavia’s premier specialized higher education institutions dedicated exclusively to the study, practice, and artistic research of design. Operating under the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science, the school educates approximately 400 talented undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students in a close-knit, highly international, studio-based community. Situated in an award-winning historic campus on Ågade along the Kolding River, DSKD features 15 state-of-the-art specialized prototyping workshops—including digital fabrication, jacquard loom weaving, electronic knitting, leathercraft, rapid 3D form, letterpress typography, and a dedicated Swarovski crystal lab. DSKD’s internationally recognized, English-taught Master of Arts in Design programme (cand.des.) bridges five core disciplines (Industrial, Communication, Fashion, Textile, and Accessory Design) with three transformative societal focus areas: Design for Planet, Design for People, and Design for Play (developed in unique partnership with the LEGO Foundation).
