Overview

The three-year Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Psychology has been designed for individuals who seek a broad and extensive interdisciplinary education in the liberal arts and sciences tradition. The concentration in Psychology grounds students in research methods and different understandings of human behaviour. Through the study of various psychology issues, world events and schools of psychological thought, students are introduced to methods of reading, interpreting, and synthesizing a broad and diverse range of ideas and research.  

Students in the program will have the opportunity to meet the following objectives through the Psychology concentration requirements:

1. gain a thorough grounding in psychological principles and theories;
2. understand the development and history of various schools of psychological thought;
3. learn to critically read and evaluate past and current research;
4. develop an awareness of psychological issues affecting the individual over the course of a lifetime;
5. develop in-depth awareness of selected topics in psychology.

Programme Structure

The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program provides a comprehensive understanding of human behavior, cognition, and emotions. Students study developmental, social, cognitive, and abnormal psychology, along with research methods and statistics. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, experimental design, and practical application through labs and fieldwork. Electives allow specialization in areas such as clinical, educational, or organizational psychology.

If you hold a valid Canadian study permit, you’re allowed to work part-time in Canada during your studies. Currently, international students can work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year and full-time during scheduled breaks such as winter, summer, and spring holidays.
